The single flower opens brilliant cool pink. Intensity of the pigmentation varies over an unusually wide range, changing in the sun and the prevailing spring temperatures. Two rows of broad, nicely rounded guard petals surround a contrasting boss of light-yellow stamens. The pleasantly fragrant flower retains its cupped shape well through petal fall. Altogether a nicely formed flower with a desirable combination of qualities. The bush has a very satisfying plant habit, it is vigorous and increases well. It is a dependable bloomer and produces ample color on a medium height bush within a few years of planting. One large flower per stem is presented near the deep green foliage. Strong stems are erect and self-supporting, the bush retains its shape without support against inclement weather events. The bright colors draw attention from afar, an excellent choice for the perennial border and mass plantings.
