Fragrant Japanese, anemone flower on mature specimens, opens cream with a light-yellow center. Broad guard petals surround a large cluster of slender, pale-yellow staminode segments which obscure pale green carpels tipped with rose-red stigmas. The pigmentation is more pronounced in the heart of the flower grading lighter outward. The color soon fades in the sun to ivory, then nearly pure white by the time petals drop. The large flower is well-tailored and of good form and substance. It is a dependable variety with excellent plant-habit. The increase of this vigorous plant is above average and produces a broad, compact bush within a few years of planting. It is free flowering with a generous amount of color on a medium height bush. Numerous side buds increase this effect and extend the bloom time. Glossy, dark green leaflets remain attractive for most of the growing season, well into the fall. Self-supporting, stout stems carry flowers close to the foliage imparting a harmonious, well-proportioned presentation of the floral display. This variety is an outstanding performer in the landscape and an excellent choice for the perennial border.
