Description

The semi-double flower opens hot fuchsia pink. The pigments lose little of their intensity, especially in a cool spring, until petals drop. Both brilliance and saturation are more pronounced in a cool climate. Several layers of broad petals surround a ring of yellow stamens with a set of prominent green carpels in its center with deep pink stigmas. The large petals of good substance, evenly pigmented, combine to a large, nicely tailored flower. The color dominates the presentation and draws the eye from a distance. The bush is vigorous, medium height, slightly arching but stiff stems make a compact, mounded silhouette. Well-grown plants may form a broad mound habit at maturity, yielding dozens of blooms. Cool green, semi-glossy leaflets are intermediate in form between the parents, leathery and durable. It is a dazzling peony and makes a flamboyant addition to any sunny perennial border.

Basic Growing Requirements
Full Sun. Water as needed, sensitive to overwintering and waterlogged conditions. Soil pH 6.5-7. Fertile, well-draining soil.
