Description

Single, small to medium size flower, opens dark red. A double layer of cupped petals surrounds a cluster of deep yellow stamens. Attractive, compact habit, on a mounded semi-dwarf bush. Feathery, fern like foliage on strong stems, free standing, carries flowers above the canopy. Expect early season dormancy, foliage commonly declines mid-summer. A more difficult to grow variety, particularly here in NW Missouri. It requires excellent water management and needs protection from excessive sun and wind. It is a near border peony which promises a fabulous display if grown well.

Basic Growing Requirement
Full Sun. Water as needed, sensitive to over-watering and waterlogged conditions. Soil pH 6.5-7. Fertile, well-draining soil.
