The double flower opens crimson red. The color is more brilliant upon opening, soon fading to lighter red shades vailed in silver, imparting a frosted appearance. The broad outer petals enclose many layers of segments that grade narrower inward forming a well-tailored flower. It is well furnished with petals, of good shape and substance. The plant has a satisfying plant habit, it is vigorous, a dependable bloomer and side buds prolong the boom season. It produces ample color on a large clump within a few years of planting. The long stem bears the flower above the foliage making a sprawling bush requiring mechanical support. The bush is well-covered with semi-glossy, deep green foliage. Leaflets remain green through the summer well into fall here in NW Missouri. It is an attractive peony with a decidedly old fashion flair that yields fine stems for the vase. This cutter is a good choice for the cut flower garden and cutter in commercial use.
