Description

Single, large flower opens creamy white, fading to white when mature. The cream color is more pronounced and longer lasting in cool spring climate. Two rows of broad, nicely formed petals form a low bowl that holds a large cluster of golden yellow stamens. The light green carpels and pale stigmas are exposed. Both the segments and the flowers are of excellent form and good substance. One large flower per stem with an occasional side bud extends flowering and breeding options. The peony has a very satisfying plant habit, vigorous, good increase, and dependable bloom on a compact, semi-dwarf bush. The blooms are carried near the canopy of the dark green foliage. Self-supporting, strong stems are erect and well- clad in deep green foliage. The leaf condition may decline upon onset of summer heat and drought, supplemental irrigation and protection from direct mid-day sun is beneficial. The bush holds its shape well against inclement weather events and staking is not required under normal growing conditions. It is an excellent variety for the perennial border, effective in mass plantings and a unique peony that attracts pollinators and makes a fine addition to a living garden.
