Description

Full double, large flower opens bright magenta red. Well-formed, broad guards, petals grading small inward, the segments are narrower, wavy and deeply notched. In center, obscured carpels with deep rose stigma, yellow stamens on yellow filaments also mostly obscured, nearby petals edged and stippled in white add to the character of the bloom. The flower is nicely tailored, of good substance and of a high silhouette form. Mild fragrance. Side buds extend bloom. Good plant habit, vigorous and good increase, a reliable bloomer with ample color on a large, medium height bush. Remarkably dark, bronze red stems when emerging from the ground in early spring, the foliage eventually turning into a rich, deep green color as the season progresses, retains a very dark green shade to the end of the growing season. Forms an attractive bush with strong stems that hold the flower near the canopy, typically self-supporting, staking depends on placement in the landscape. Promises excellent landscape qualities and furnishes fine stems for the vase.
